We all are blessed with different types of skin. Oily, normal, dry or combination skin are some of the broad classifications of types of skins. We find numerous types of products, for various purposes. But have you ever wondered why do we find so many products in so many different varieties? It is because of the target customers. Not all customers are alike, and the needs vary from person to person. The skin types that need a particular care regime, totally depend on the type of skin.
Here are ways on How to Choose Right Foundation for your Skin Tone
1. Check your tone
If your veins look blue, on your wrist you are cool. If they are green, you are warm. If they are a mix of both, you are neutral. Check your hues and then zero in on the suitable tone of the conditioner.
2. The coverage
The next step is to decide on how much skin do you want to show underneath your foundation. Choose your foundation based on if you want to opt for partial, sheer or medium coverage.
3. The test of disappearance
Once you are sure of your skin tone, check the foundation on your jawline. If it disappears, that’s the right one for you. For richer skin tones, check on the T region, which is forehead, nose, and mouth.
4. Create a custom color
If you are in a dilemma to choose between two shades, go for a lighter one. As you can always darken it up with bronzer or blush.
3 Steps To Apply Your Foundation
1. Use a brush for applying it evenly as it makes the application smooth by taking up very little of it. Go for the airbrush technique, to get a uniform look.
2. Apply three dots of foundation on forehead, two on each cheek and one on the nose. Now slowly move downwards from the forehead and achieve a uniform look. To finish it off, use the brush in circular motions for even application and to avoid getting that cakey look.
3. When dipping the brush in powder, make sure its fluffy and you dip it in a packing motion rather than swirl motion to avoid taking too much powder on the brush at a time. Be sure to apply a smooth layer to avoid getting an uneven finish.
Note:
For Oily skin, use a powder-based foundation so that it soaks in the extra oil from the skin.
For normal skin, make your decision based on how you would like your face to appear, and select the type of foundation
For dry skin, the liquid foundation works best.
