Keloids are types of scars that form an area of fibroid tissue over skin that is recovering from a wound. It is known to extend deeper than the original wound. When a person gets a wound from injury a scar usually develops during healing. Scars are usually formed by collagen. In some cases, there is too much protein around the wound area and these results in the development of keloids. They usually spread over the skin and in some instances may become itchy.
They are not contagious but may become ulcer-like if they become infected. Although most cases of its occurrence take place where there has been a wound in some cases it can take place in an area of the skin which has experienced an acne attack or an area that has been pricked. There are different forms of Keloid scar treatment that exist.
List of Home Remedies for Keloids Scars:
Lemon Juice:
Apply some fresh lemon on the affected skin. Leave it on for about 30 minutes then rinse it off with some lukewarm water.
Apple Cider Vinegar:
Apply a few drops of vinegar directly on the damaged skin and leave it on for a couple of minutes. Repeat this 2 to 3 times a day.
Aloe Vera:
First, clean the damaged area and apply some Aloe Vera gel directly on the scar daily 2 times a day.
Lavender Oil:
Apply a few drops of lavender oil and massage it thoroughly for a couple of minutes. Repeat this 2 to 3 times a day.
Honey:
Take 4 tsp of lemon juice and honey; add 3 tsp of plain yogurt and 1 egg white to it. Mix them well and apply on the scars and leave it on for about 15 minutes before rinse out with water.
Garlic:
Crushed few garlic cloves and apply on the affected skin to treat this problem at home. Make sure you stop the treatment if you feel any burning sensation.
Baking Soda:
Take 1 tsp of baking soda with 3 tsp of hydrogen peroxide. Mix them well and apply on the damaged skin using any clean cotton cloth. Leave it on for about 15 minutes then wash it off with some lukewarm water. Repeat this 2 to 3 times a day.
Vitamin E:
Vitamin E develops a healthy skin layer its natural properties reduce the appearance of scars naturally include Vitamin E in your regular diet. Vitamin E oil is known for its ability to cure scars by helping in skin regeneration. It can be used up to three times a day and it is known to help in softening the collagen fibers that form scars.
Sandalwood and Black Gram:
Take some sandalwood powder and black gram in an equal amount add some water to make a paste. Apply the paste on the scars and leave overnight
Fuller’s Earth, Lime Juice and Rose Water:
Take 1 tbsp of fuller’s earth, rose water and lime juice. Mix them well to make a paste. Then massage with the paste on the affected skin.
