Make Your Own Homemade Natural Deodorant in 3 Easy Steps

0

In this post we will learn how you can make your very own homemade natural deodorant. This is less expensive than buying expensive deodorants in the store and safer for your body. Many people are unaware of the hidden dangers that lie in commercial deodorants which are loaded with harmful chemicals, parabens, and toxic metals like aluminum which can be absorbed by the skin and cause problems with the kidneys.

This natural homemade deodorant will actually help you moisturize the skin, absorb the wetness under your arm and utilize essential oils which act to destroy bacteria; a reason why you develop odor under your arms.

OK, so let’s get started! First you’ll need:

  • 4 oz. Natural Coconut Oil
  • 1 lb. Arrowroot Powder

Method: The first thing you’ll need to do is melt some coconut oil. Take 4 ounces of it and put it into a heated pan and melt it down. After your coconut oil has melted, take it out and add the Arrowroot powder.

The coconut oil acts as the natural moisturizer for your skin and the Arrowroot powder is going to help with absorbing moisture and wetness in your natural deodorant. Just mix the coconut oil and Arrowroot powder together in the bowl until it’s nice and creamy. Next we add some essential oils.

You can add your own essential oils, but just make sure that you research online first and find the ones that have anti-bacterial properties. We will use these three essential oils in our homemade natural deodorant:

  • Bergamot
  • Lemongrass
  • Litsea Cubeba

After you have added all three of your anti-bacterial essential oils and mixed it all up in your coconut oil and Arrowroot powder mixture, you want to pour the mixture into an empty deodorant container and refrigerate overnight.

Just remember that the coconut oil will need to be stored at 76 degrees or below, or it will melt at a higher room temperature, so don’t leave it in your car on a hot day. This type of deodorant tends to leave a white film on your skin, so you may want to use it in the winter, or when wearing long sleeve shirts, but don’t worry it comes off easily in the wash.
