Amnesia is a condition in which a person experiences a partial or complete loss of memory which may occur due to a disease, an injury or emotional stress. This causes poor memory and forgetfulness. It mostly occurs in people who are over the age of 60. They are basically of two types – anterograde and retrograde. In anterograde, a person only remembers past events and has difficulty in memorizing the new events in his life. In retrograde, a person only remembers the new events and is unable to recollect the past events of his life.
There are certain home remedies for amnesia which can boost the memory, nervous system and mental alertness.

Rosemary:
Properties: Rosemary is a powerful natural remedy for amnesia which boosts the memory and cures forgetfulness. It also provides relief from mental fatigue. Rosemary tea can be prepared by a tablespoon of the rosemary into boiling water and let it stay and take effect in the water for 4-5 minutes. Then drain the herb and add half a lemon in the tea. Have this tea twice every day and it will help in strengthening your memory.
Almonds:
Almonds help in strengthening the brain and thereby enhancing the memory as amnesia is often caused by weakness in the brain. They also protect from the occurrence of nervous disorders and therefore are a good natural treatment for amnesia. Soak 10-12 almonds in water and leave them soaked overnight. Peel them in the morning and make a paste of these almonds and butter and consume every morning.
Walnuts:
Walnuts are also beneficial for tackling brain weakness and act as memory boosters. Walnuts also improve cognitive and motor abilities due to the high content of fatty acids and polyphenols in them. 15-20 grams of walnuts are recommended for consumption every day. It is best to consume them with raisins and figs.
Basil Leaves:
Basil leaves are extremely beneficial for boosting the memory and are one of the best home remedies for amnesia. You can simply chew basil leaves after washing twice a day. Add a few leaves of basil to boiling water and set it aside for 5 minutes. Drink this mixture after draining the leaves as it cools down.

Milk:
Milk and its substitutes should be replaced with cow’s milk and its substitutes.
Sage:
Properties: Sage facilitates in relieving mental stress and regaining focus. It basically has a soothing effect on the brain. As a natural remedy for amnesia, you should consume tea prepares from sage leaves at least once in a day.
