Avoid Dry Cough During Pregnency

Dry cough remedies during pregnancy have been a subject that has been facing diverse opinions as to how to address it. Dry coughing is very common among expectant women. It can occur at any stage of the pregnancy but is more prevalent during the last stages of the pregnancy. Finally, as a remedy to dry coughs, two teaspoons of lemon and a teaspoon of honey can be taken at intervals of three times.

Ginger for Dry Cough: Using this natural ingredient in different ways is considered one of the most popular dry cough remedies. Drinking herbal tea prepared by boiling grated ginger, lemon juice, black pepper and holy basil or consuming a mixture made of one tablespoon of honey, ΒΌ teaspoon ground ginger and red pepper, one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and two tablespoon of water, can go a long way in soothing dry cough in adults in a positive manner.

Salt: Using saltwater gargle is perhaps one the easiest dry cough remedies for adults. For this remedy, you are required to mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water till it dissolves completely. Gargling with this warm water at regular intervals (between 2 to 3 hours) can help heal dry cough in adults in an effective manner.

Inhalation of steam: Inhaling steam is also good dry cough remedies during pregnancy. This is usually done at the frequency of three or four times a day for a period of at least 15 minutes each. A steaming kettle, humidifier or a steam vaporizer can be used. The inhaled steam helps to keep the expectant mother hydrated through inhaling damp air. Damp air is a good remedy.

Hot Shower: Taking hot shower can help to cure dry cough. A hot shower makes a dry cough remedies during pregnancy by helping to reduce irritation caused by the dry coughs. Also, sitting on the bath tab while the hot shower is kept running is a remedy.
