Removing dark spots on the lips is not so difficult because there are some particular things that work best to remove or reduce black patches on lips. Actually it depends on how you are careful of your daily lips care. We will divide it into two ways such as – natural home remedies and some habits changes can reduce your black spots on lips. Try to keep your lips moisturize. Moisturizing your lips can help lighten them. Use Vaseline, shea butter or a lip balm before going to bed every night and as needed during the day to get rid of dark lips.

Common Causes:

Due to Sunrays: The men and women, who explore more in the sun, can have dark or dry patches on lips.

Caffeine: Excessive amount of taking caffeine such as tea, coffee etc causes dark or black lines on lips.

Smoking: Everybody knows that smoking caused dark spots on lips. I see many friends, who smoke for a long time, their lips are black. May be smoking is the most common thing that causes dark spots on lips. But, is a matter of sorrow that the persons, who smoke, cannot quit it.

Hot Foods: The persons, who have bad habits to eat hot foods like pizza, any fried foods etc, may experience black spots on lips. It is especially happened when they are exposed to hot foods for a long time.

Hormones: There are many kinds of hormones in human body. Different hormones complete different responsibilities. When any hormone gets changes, human body also finds changes. In this way, you may feel black patches on lips. But your dermatologist can say exactly what hormone is causing black tone on your lips.

List of Home Remedies:

Lemon and Honey: Take a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of lemon. Apply the mixture on the lips and leave for about an hour. Then wipe out your lips with a wet cloth.

Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera is also effective in case of dark lips. Apply the gel on your lips on a daily basis, it helps to lighten up your dark lips.

Sugar Scrub: Take 2-3 tsp of sugar and add 2 tsp of butter mix it well and scrub your dark lips with this paste.

Beetroot: Rub your dark lips with a slice of beetroot for about 10 minutes.

Coconut Oil or Almond Oil: Take few drops of almond oil / coconut oil and massage your dark lips gently every night before you sleep and leave it till they dry.

Ice Cubes: Rub an ice cube all over your lips every day 2 – 3 times a day.

Glycerin, Honey and Lemon: Make a mixture by mixing lemon juice, honey and glycerin. Apply it daily for several weeks.

Yoghurt, Lemon Juice, and Honey: Make a paste by mixing equal amount of lemon juice, yoghurt, and honey and rub it onto your lips. Leave it on for about half hour then scrub it off.

Banana, Sugar, and Coconut Oil: Make a lip scrub by mixing sugar, coconut oil and one mashed banana.

Water: Drink at least three liters of water every day.

Fruits and Vegetables: Eat seasonal fruits and fresh vegetables every day.

Almond Powder and Milk: Mix one teaspoon of almond powder with one teaspoon of milk to form a paste. Apply this paste on a regular basis.

Plain Butter: Daily application of plain butter also helps lighten the dark lips.

Milk: Apply plain milk several times during a day for few weeks.
