Adenomyosis is a common condition observed in women that are caused when the endometrium breaks through myometrium. The endometrium is the inner lining of the uterus whereas myometrium is nothing but the uterus wall. Due to several factors, the endometrium may break through the myometrium leading to intense cramps and excessive bleeding.

Causes:

Adenomyosis is not caused by a single factor. There are many possible causes and risk factors that can lead to the occurrence of adenomyosis. Some of them are listed below:

· Endometriosis- abnormal growth of endometrial cells around the ovaries.

· Miscarriage/ Abortion

· Hormonal imbalances- high levels of estrogen and low levels of progesterone.

Symptoms:

· Some of the symptoms that can be observed when one is diagnosed with adenomyosis are:

· Bloating

· Intense cramps

· Excessive bleeding

· Blood clots

· Abdominal pressure

· Painful sexual intercourse

Home remedies to treat adenomyosis:

1) Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera is popularly used amongst people for its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Consumption of aloe vera can soothe the cramps and reduce all the swellings/ inflammation. You can drink a glass of fresh aloe vera juice every morning to treat adenomyosis.

2) Turmeric:

Turmeric is recommended by experts to treat several disorders for its healing properties. Just add 1 tbsp of turmeric in a glass of milk and drink it every day before going to sleep.

3) Ginger :

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that will aid in getting rid of pain and swelling. The best way to consume ginger is by using it to make tea. Make your usual ginger tea and add 1 tbsp of honey in it instead of sugar. Drink this on a regular basis to treat adenomyosis and soothe cramps.

4) Castor Oil:

Castor oil is proved to be one of the best oils that must be used to massage and nullify the intense pain. It will not only take care of your cramps but also provide you instant relief.

Take 2 tbsp of castor oil and use it massage your lower abdomen. Repeat this for 20 minutes every day and you will see amazing results.

5) Heating Pads:

However, the same can be used to treat the cramps that result from adenomyosis. Heating pads are proven to be very effective in soothing your pain and make you feel cheerful even on your periods.

6) Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar is used to treat several disorders as it can balance your hormones. Due to its exceptional healing properties apple cider vinegar is also recommended for anyone who is dealing with reproductive issues.

Add 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water. Drink it every day and you will see amazing results.

7) Banana:

Banana is rich in vitamins and minerals that are proven to reduce cramps. It acts as an amazing anti-inflammatory agent and reduces the swelling if any. Just grab 2 bananas for your breakfast instead of a full-fledged meal.

8) Vitamins and Minerals:

Studies have proved that vitamins like Vitamin B complex and Vitamin E can reduce cramps and ease the struggles of menstruation. Therefore, it is recommended to include either the supplements or capsules of these vitamins in your diet. Apart from these, make sure you have a balanced diet and food items that are rich in minerals and vitamins.
